Breda studied art under a number of tutors. She concentrated on oils for the first fifteen or so years, then enjoyed acrylics and some watercolours.
Pastels are her main interest now as she loves the immediacy, the illustrious and vibrant effects that can be achieved. She finds the Irish bog particularly interesting as a subject as it changes with every season from Wicklow in the East to Connemara in the West of Ireland.
Breda was elected President of the Dublin Art Society 1996-1997 and President of the Dublin Painting nad Sketching Club 2006-2008. She is an elected member of the Pastel Society of Ireland.
She exhibits regularly in group exhibitions. Her work is held in private collections at home and abroad
