Born in Dublin Nina Patterson had an interest in painting from an early age. She studied in with contemporary artists and craft workers and in NCAD but is largely a self-taught artist. She has been exhibiting professionally since 1989.
Working mainly in oils and watercolour Nina’s subject matter is diverse, themes have included still life, figures, street scenes and varied landscapes. Capturing light, creating atmosphere and textures with contrasting bold and soft muted tones are the focus of her paintings.
Holding solo, shared and group exhibitions Nina has shown her work in galleries throughout the country and also had her work included in the R.H.A., Ulster small works, Iontas, and Oireachtas exhibitions. She has been a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club since 1991 and is a member of the Water Colour Society of Ireland and the Kildare Artists. Her paintings feature in corporate and private collections.
Nina runs a series drawing and painting classes and art workshops throughout the year.
