“Bull Island Treasure Trove” resulted from Betty Christie’s first visit to the north-side of Dublin Bay. Her usual source of visual treasure is along the coastline of Antrim and Down.

What Betty values most is the intricate detail, the shapes, patterns, colours and textures of the natural world.

Of the process of drawing and painting she says…

“It is pure pleasure to be absorbed in analysing, investigating and exploring the visual elements of each object, and in creating a representation of what I see…”

Quoting William Blake, she invites her viewer …

“To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower.”
