George studied art at N.C.A.D under Henry Healy and Des Carrick in late 70s.  He attended a number of Henry Healy’s summer schools on Achill Island which instilled in him a love of Plein Air painting.

He is a member of The Dublin Painting and Sketching Club where he exhibits regularly at their annual exhibitions and also at groups shown throughout the year.  His subject matter is quite varied but prefers to paint landscape, seascape and streetscapes.

He paints mainly in oils, Acrylic and Gouache and occasionally in water-colour, in an impressionist style.

George was awarded a Bronze Award for his painting of “Kilmore Quay” at Art in the Open, in Wexford 2015.

His ambition is to continue to enjoy the whole process of painting without taking it too seriously.
