Paul Kavanagh

Paul started painting with Brian McCarthy and soon developed an interest in Still Life, painted in a realistic manner.

Over the years he has focused on composition and the effect of light, shade and how a detail can draw the eye into a picture and how the use of everyday objects can bring a picture to life.

He paints in oils, and while he has painted Landscapes and other subjects his main focus is on Still Life concentrating on details such as fabric, marble tabletops and the finish that can be achieved with colour, texture and highlights.

Paul has exhibited at many Galleries including Gallery 4, Sandymount, Lyndsay Gallery, Monkstown, Kilternan Art Gallery and Lee Gallery, Cork. His work has also sold at Auction with Adams, DeVeres, and Whytes Art Auctions. His work is held in private and corporate collections in U.S.A., France, Scotland England and Ireland.

He is a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and The Dublin Art Society.
