Kathrine Geoghegan is an artist living and working in Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland.

Kathrine’s practice is concerned with conservation, habitat and the preservation of wild places.  With a particular interest in peatlands, she wishes to raise awareness and increase knowledge of the importance of different habitats through her paintings of botanical forms.  She describes native plants in their natural habitat, those plants that some might call weeds, so important for biodiversity.  What you see in her paintings is an insect’s-eye view of the world.

Kathrine has had 8 solo exhibitions.  Her work has been acquired by the OPW for the State Collections, and her paintings feature in corporate and private collections. She has recently accepted an invitation to become a patron of the Irish Peatland Conservation Council.
