Jan Hyland

Jan Hyland was born in Scotland and has lived in Ireland for 45 years. She comes from an artistic family, her father being an architect and fine painter, her brother an artist and art teacher. She started painting full time after retiring from her physiotherapy practice.

Her love of colour comes from her admiration of the Scottish Colourists and her work is mainly in oils and pastel, subjects being Still Life, Landscape, Seascapes and especially Portraits. She is self taught but has always enjoyed exploring and learning new techniques through courses and workshops with artists such as Rob Liberace and Ken Paine.

She is a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club and a member and past President of the Dublin Art Society.
