Born in Dublin, Patrick Cahill has been working as a professional artist for over thirty years. He began his career as a graphic artist, but subsequently devoted himself exclusively to painting.
Though watercolour was his first love, he now paints equally well in both watercolour and oil. While he is noted for his urbanscapes, Patrick is also a talented figure and still life painter.
Many of Patrick’s paintings capture the unique character of his native city but he has applied his talent for urbanscape to many other European cities. In addition to the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club, Patrick is also a member of WCSI, of which he is the current Hon. Treasurer.
He has exhibited regularly in the RHA and Oireachtas exhibitions and exhibits widely in leading galleries in Ireland. He has had a number of solo exhibitions, and shows annually at the Wexford Opera Festival.
Patrick has won a number of prestigious awards for his work and has been elected to the Copley Society of Art in Boston, founded in 1879.
